1) Run the chkdsk utility in Windows regularly; I suggest weekly:

2) Defragment your drive regularly:



Use the Properties of Your Local Disk

1.Open My Computer.

2.Right-click the local disk volume that you want to defragment, and next click Properties.

4.Click Defragment.

Do these things regularly and your computer should run better!
Scan for unwanted ADware and viruses
if your computer freezes frequently this could be a hardware problem. or a problem beside a device driver. check the event log.
You probably have a virus. Check http://housecall.antivirus.com... If it's not a virus, you own a serious O/S issue or hardware issue that may be difficult for a novice (I assume) to troubleshoot. Time to telephone your local geekster.
if its freezing up alot its probably cuz theres too many things within your com so u have to collect them on a external hard drive or cd next delete them to free up some space. or it can be you have a virus and that cause the freezing, slowing down, or watever..so get spyware or other virus protection
