8600GT is the best buy, it can cost just about $100. Just product sure you get one that own DDR3 memory.
the nvida 8000 series are all dx10 supported. the 8800 ultra is the flagship dx10 card from nvidia. ati also have a few dx10 cards, like the 2900 series.
ati radeon hd 2900 pci express. pricey but best for gaming.

the full range of geforce 8 have directx 10 capabilities. they should be flawless enough to play the upcoming games. 8800 ultra is the best among the geforce 8 series. Geforce 9 should be coming out soon as economically.. do consider that.
