What is the cheapest course to fix a modem?

My Presario is 2 yrs matured, and last week after a thunderstorm, the modem merely quit working so that I can not connect to internet. I have dial up, and cannot go and get high speed within my area.

What is the cheapest course to fix a modem?

On Desktop, replace it. Nearest computer store, Wal-Mart prolly have cheap.

Probably not onboard so you'll pull one card and put the other one surrounded by its place. Very simple to do, snaps in place.

Prolly running Windows XP so driver files on the accompanying compact disc may not even be required. But if they are, replace modem, plug back to power (always unplug from power in the past working on), turn on, insert CD if requested. Restart electrical device and reconfigure your modem dial-up settings to your internet provider.

If it's a laptop, modem is prolly onboard and will cost lotsa $$$$ to replace, motherboard may have to be replaced. Best entity is get a usb to RJ11 external modem, Serial RS-232 to RJ11 modem, or pcmcia card near an RJ11 jack.
Your modem is probably fried. You can buy a new one for around $10.00.
you may necessitate to buy a pcmica card that is a modem
its fried.

buy a exotic one its below 10 euroes and its gonna be much faster than the one you had .
Anyone can find high speed internet surrounded by any area. You can acquire satellite.
kick it
