Yes, build your own. I built a computer for 1200 that would retail for just about 2500 to 3000. Also once you build a computer, you can slowly upgrade it as the money comes in.

I basically built a new notebook for gameing. I got a armour, motherboard. and power supply from tiger direct for around $ 350. Bought 2 gig of ddr2 800 mhz. strike from dell for $138 and 2 geforce 7600 GT OC 256 meg cards for $378. I used my current drives and this system rocks now. Mother board is Asus sli, 2000 fsb and boots at 800 mhz. Added a Athelon 64X2 5400 cpu. You can gain by cheaper if you stick with 1 vid card and possibly 1 gig of run into.
