Using a 3.4 extreme contained by a 3.0 Motherboard?

I hold an Intel 865perl. rated to use a P4, 3.0Ghz beside an 800 FSB.

Can I use a 3.4Ghz extreme edition and will there be a actions gain with the 2MB cache over the 1MB?

I'm aware if it works it would lone run @ 3.0..

I did a flush at Intel and if your board is a D865PERL it supports that processor at full speed you need bios copy P13 or greater. You can check this for yourself by going to intel under the support tab select furrow support and type in your board # consequently just look around.
