UPGRADE BIOS FOR GIGABYTE 815AGP 60M7EF3, can I revision the present processor Pt III667 to 1000, please support.

upgrading the bios mate is the one mission even older p.c users resembling myself dread, its the only time on a p.c if you do one point wrong you basically mess up your p.c for honest

the rule of thumb isif its working ok and the bios upgrade is just for a system boost later leave it

your pentium 3 processor uses a 370 socket,so as long as the 1000mhz processor uses one and the same socket then its freshly a case of swapping the processors over and reseting bios using the cmos jersey switch(move from position 1/2 to 2/3 for 20 seconds afterwards return back to position 1/2)

remember to apply a gaunt layer of thermal compound to the processor to impart good conductivity between the cpu and heatsink

if you have an idea that you can do the bios update then do it,but as previously advise its not essential

the pentium 3 cpu,s were very well known for using alot of power so a well-mannered cpu fan would be a knowledgeable investment just to engineer sure the more powerful 1000mhz cpu dosent get too hot,a zalman cpu cooler(http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduc... the Zalman CNPS7000B-CU Ultra-Quiet CPU Cooler ,this is a poular cpu cooler next to enthusiasts who like obedient cooling for their p.c,s

good luck mate!
i wouldnt do it, set free ur money and buy a new computer within the future
