There are many kind of RAM chips, EDO, SDRAM, RD-RAM, DDR SDRAM, DDR2..
What you need to know is whether your computer uses DDR, DDR 2 or SDRAM Memory and later find out the maximum amount of memory you can install from either the motherboard guide or the manufacturer. Then choose the amount you stipulation I recommend 1024MB.
